Untuk itu, upaya melahirkan kembali anak rohani WR Supratman memiliki arti penting bagi kesusastraan Indonesia modern. Sebelumnya diterbitkan ulang, Perawan Desa sempat dibagikan dalam format pdf dan gratis. Meski demikian, penerbitan versi cetak ini patut diaspresiasi dan didukung oleh segenap lapisan masyarakat.

Buruh Perempuan dalam Perspektif Struktural Fungsional

<p>Buruh-buruh perempuan sebagaimana terungkap dalam buku ini kerap menemui sejumlah masalah yang sulit diatasi. Hal tersebut terkait erat dengan pola relasi industrial antara mereka dan penyelia (supervisor) atau pengurus serikat pekerja di tempat mereka bekerja. Linda, Ika, Enong, dan Tati, misalnya, harus selalu siap “meluangkan waktu” untuk kerja lembur di malam hari. Mereka sulit menampik untuk tidak kerja lembur. Tuntutan perusahaan, solidaritas sesama buruh, dan biaya hidup tinggi di perkotaan membuat buruh semakin sulit menghindari kerja lembur. Namun, dalam kerja lembur itu pun tidak jarang muncul kasus ketidaksesuaian antara penghitungan jam lembur dan upah yang diterima. Misalnya, Linda telah bekerja lembur selama 140 jam, namun besar upah lembur yang diterimanya dihitung 100 jam. Hampir serupa dialami Ika yang bekerja di bagian jahit. Fasilitas penerangan sangat tidak memadai, sehingga kedua bola mata Ika segera memerah dan cepat lelah ketika diharuskan kerja lembur.</p>
