Hosted by the fashion designer Marie Schaller, they offer a safe space for fashion professionals at all stages of their careers to discuss their journey. It asks them to reflect on this idea of making it in the fashion industry, what it means for them, and what the cost of it is.
Owning up to my own ignorance in the matter, this podcast is an investigation, inviting through various testimonials and archives to create a common understanding of the reality of this career and industry. What is the reality of fashion school? How do you become an Art director? Where do you get funding to start your brand? Who is paid? How do you get paid for your work? And at what stage of their career?

In the third episode of our season 1, Marie Schaller has invited the art director and multidisciplinary artist Marvin M’Toumo to look back on their journey as the founder of their theatre company and fashion house. From their working-class background born in Guadeloupe, to their visual art study in France and fashion design master's in Switzerland, Marvin comes back on his troublesome journey to make it to the Hyere Festival finalist and set him up to launch his own unique label merging high fashion with theatre performance. After a decade working on developing his own craft, he comes back to notions such as politics, community and mental health, which have been an integral part of his practice through the years.
