I approached this remix with the intention of creating something that feels spiritual but still hits hard on a dancefloor. The goal was to preserve the emotion and essence of the original while adding my own signature touch through deeper rhythms, uplifting transitions and a more immersive late-night Afro House vibe.

This remix is my interpretation of “I Am” through an Afro House lens, taking the raw emotion and vulnerability in Omah Lay’s vocals and placing them into a deeper, more immersive sonic space. I wanted to preserve the soul of the original while elevating the energy, blending warm percussion, rolling basslines, and atmospheric textures that create both movement and introspection. It’s that balance between feeling something deeply and still being able to move with it.

I’ve always loved the vulnerability and honesty in “Man I Need” by Olivia Dean, it’s such a beautifully written record. With this Afro House remix, I wanted to reimagine that emotion on the dancefloor while keeping the soul of the original intact. I built this version around deep percussion, warm bass movement, and layered Afro rhythms that create both drive and space. The idea was to let the groove carry you, but still allow the lyrics to breathe keeping that intimate feeling while elevating the energy. This remix sits somewhere between soulful house and Afro electronic, emotive, rhythmic, and powerful. It’s one for sunset sets, late-night moments, and those dancefloor connections where the music says what words sometimes can’t. Turn it up, feel the drums, and let it move you.
