On Episode 14 (Part One) of Fascinating Folks we get to giggle with my super special guest, my Granny, Vera Crock! My Granny is now a young 91 years old, as she was born in 1934, a year before my favorite singer Elvis Presley, and yes, you heard that right! When this was recorded she was 90! My Granny grew up on a farm with a whole bunch of brothers and sisters, and we get to learn a little about her life growing up, and then meeting and marrying my Gramps, Bob! Otherwise known as, Robert Crock! They ended up having three sons, Jeff, Terry and Ron. Terry being my dad! From discovering she does not like working with money to finding out she wrote a song and used to play guitar to seeing a bit of her silly self, I think you may enjoy this interview. There may be some pauses, and quiet moments, hopefully mostly just being seconds of pondering. Granny has a huge faith in God and you can see that in her spirit of positivity! My favorite thing she says is, "It's a crazy life!", although I am unsure she said that in this episode? If anyone catches that, please let me know! Granny has a laidback and soft look on life, and you can find her nowadays doing puzzles, laughing and reading her Bible every night before bed! Her love of the Lord is so strong in each day, and I admire that! I love you Granny and I love being her housemate! I ended up uploading the episode in two parts! Elise and her family survived a horrific earthquake when she was just a little girl. On Episode10 Fascinating Folks we journey through being with Jurnee. Jurnee has moved from NY to PA to WA to PA to now maybe OH, in her life so far. She started learning Latin as a young girl and started becoming a pilot as a young lady. Jurnee shares with us a little about her experiences of being saved by one of her many lovely siblings from choking on a peppermint outside a recording studio, to what she loves about being in the clouds as she flies and hopes to rescue those in trouble and need. Episode #9: Sharing Life Tidbits with Scott
On Episode 9 of Fascinating Folks we share life tidbits with Scott! Scott is fascinatingly quirky and a gentleman of many interests and skills. He is currently the head of aquatics at a community favorite of the YMCA and a lifeguard there too. We get to hear about his family and heritage in the interview. Scott’s father is from Bolivia and we hear the sweet story of how his mother and father met, we travel down Scott’s love of theatre and storytelling including the very movie he wrote, as well as how he keeps so strong and focused! Scott follows the Lord and struts stylishly down the city sidewalks as he does all of these things. If you know Scott, you know you have an authentic friend in him. They have been a support to me in the short time I have known them and by the way they live their lives, you can tell they want to help others. On the podcast this week, we learn about the backstories of this theatre owning family and how Kristie’s business running and Matt’s creative music loving both came together. We get to hear about the super short engagement process of the two who were meant to be and about their beautiful family and faith. We also get to learn about the miracle babies of the couple, Jarred and Emma. This family sticks together and are full of a determined spirit. On Episode 7 of Fascinating Folks we get to lay back and talk to my lifelong friend Leah! Leah has so much kindness to share and remains down to Earth through everything life presents her. From being a band kid and playing her oboe to joining flag line, to getting two black belts, to graduating with a criminal justice degree, she has lived so much for being so young. Leah is on her way to being a Mrs., which is so exciting just like her new job helping women and fighting back against human trafficking. Leah has gotten to travel a little in her life so we get to hear about why she particularly loves Austria. She also found herself taking the bus rather often when she was an exchange student for a little while. She has a love for God and that is shown in her life. Episode #6: Entertaining Dialoguing with Ethan & Everett
Today we get to have some conversation with my two intelligent co-workers, Ethan and Everett! These two gentlemen are totally "stellar" which makes sense because they work in a planetarium! Today we learn a little about them through a fun little discussion of who prefers the state of Ohio or the state of Florida. We also hear a little history debate between the two, and learn more about Ethan's love of scuba diving. Everett discusses how see sees God in everyday life coinciding with his interest in science. The three of us definitely have our differences, but as Ethan shares, we can still have friendship despite our differences. We also have surprise visit from a special guest, a fellow planetarium presenter, John! You can listen to their podcast interview later this week! 💙🎙️
