"I Related Too Much to Bishop from Juice..." | 90s Coming-of-Age Movies That Made Us Men
Most of us grew up watching 90s cinema classics, but what happens when you realize you adopted the wrong movie character as your blueprint for manhood? This week, De’Meco and Blair dive into a massive nostalgia trip, breaking down why Blair mistakenly idolized Tupac’s character, Bishop, in Juice, and how classic films shaped their views on masculinity and survival. From the cinematic lessons of Baby Boy to the realities of modern fatherhood, the guys look at what it actually takes to trade the streets for stability and build real generational wealth.
What You’ll Learn/Hear:
The "Bishop" Delusion: Blair’s unfiltered admission about relating a little too much to Juice growing up, and the dangerous appeal of the anti-hero.
Guns and Butter: A deep look at John Singleton’s classic Baby Boy, dissecting how young men transition from being a "baby boy" to a leader who protects his family compound.
Fictional Father Blueprints: Celebrating the authoritative love of Robin Harris as Pops in House Party and Floyd Henderson in Smart Guy.
The Silent Grind: De’Meco’s experience running 10 miles in total silence to escape the content noise, and the reality of pushing a 70lb stroller.
The Chicago Line in the Sand: Why the guys believe moving the Bears out of Soldier Field to the suburbs or Indiana would completely strip the soul from the franchise.

Ep. 56 - Running is the New Golf
Is the "exclusivity" of the golf world starting to feel more like a burden than a hobby? De’Meco and Blair explore why they’re trading in the scorecard shaming of the fairway for the mental battle of the pavement, and why the running community is actually the supportive space dads have been looking for.In this episode, you’ll learn:The Oregon Real Estate Hack: How to leverage buying power and why your first mortgage payment might be further away than you think.Community Comparison: Why "scorecard shaming" in golf contrasts so sharply with the "just finish" energy of the running world. The Chicago Debate: A deep dive into whether Kanye West’s "evolution" or Derrick Rose’s ACL tear left a deeper scar on the Windy City.Fatherhood Icons: A tribute to Ray Campbell (Sister Sister) and the art of loving a family that isn't biologically yours.Timestamped Chapters00:00 - High Stakes & Low Eyes: The West Coast Dispensary Incident03:45 - The Oregon House Hunt & The Mortgage "In Arrears" Hack10:15 - Golf vs. Running: Why the Fairway is Losing its Soul23:15 - The DJ Plays This, I’m Not Leaving (Club Anthems)28:50 - Chicago's Heartbreak: Kanye's Evolution vs. D-Rose's Knee33:15 - The Forgotten Father: Ray Campbell (Sister Sister)52:40 - Stolen Valor? The 18-Mile Marathon Medal DebateAbout the ShowFather Time with De’Meco & Blair isn’t just another "dad show"—it’s a look at the legacy of fatherhood from the people who actually live it. Whether you’re an expecting father staring at a positive test, a dad in the toddler trenches, or navigating the world of elementary school algebra, this is your home base.We believe the truest judge of a father isn't the man himself, but the person on the receiving end of his parenting. That’s why we bring in perspectives from every stage of life to talk about the ripple effects of how we show up.We’re just trying to be 1% better than we were yesterday.
