Manche sind klein und wenig bedeutsam: Kaffee oder Tee? Andere <strong>müssen spontan gefällt</strong> werden, haben Folgen für Menschen, die uns wichtig sind, zB. Im Umgang mit den eigenen Kindern. Lasst euch auf keine finsteren Machenschaften ein, die keine gute Frucht hervorbringen, im Gegenteil: Helft, sie aufzudecken. Denn was manche im Verborgenen treiben, ist so abscheulich, dass man nicht einmal davon reden soll. Doch wenn durch euch das Licht Gottes auf diese Dinge fällt, werden sie erst richtig sichtbar. Was Gott ans Licht bringt, wird hell. Deshalb heißt es auch: »Erwache aus deinem Schlaf! Erhebe dich von den Toten! Und Christus wird dein Licht sein.« Achtet also genau darauf, wie ihr lebt: nicht wie unwissende, sondern wie weise Menschen. Nutzt die Zeit, so gut ihr könnt, denn wir leben in einer schlimmen Zeit. Seid nicht verbohrt; sondern begreift, was der Herr von euch will! Betrinkt euch nicht; das führt nur zu einem ausschweifenden Leben. Lasst euch vielmehr von Gottes Geist erfüllen. Ermutigt einander durch Psalmen, Lobgesänge und Lieder, wie sie euch Gottes Geist schenkt. Singt für den Herrn und jubelt aus vollem Herzen! Mein Profil als Christ

So konkret! So eindeutig! Das greift ja tief in den Alltag ein. Und genau so war es gedacht. Wir sind doch als Christen die Glieder eines Leibes, der Gemeinde von Jesus. Wenn ihr zornig seid, dann ladet nicht Schuld auf euch, indem ihr unversöhnlich bleibt. Lasst die Sonne nicht untergehen, ohne dass ihr einander vergeben habt. Gebt dem Teufel keine Gelegenheit, Unfrieden zu stiften. Wer bisher von Diebstahl lebte, der soll sich jetzt eine ehrliche Arbeit suchen, damit er auch noch Notleidenden helfen kann. Redet nicht schlecht voneinander, sondern habt ein gutes Wort für jeden, der es braucht. Was ihr sagt, soll hilfreich und ermutigend sein, eine Wohltat für alle. Tut nichts, was den Heiligen Geist traurig macht. Als Gott ihn euch schenkte, hat er euch sein Siegel aufgedrückt. Er ist doch euer Bürge dafür, dass der Tag der Erlösung kommt. Mit Bitterkeit, Wutausbrüchen und Zorn sollt ihr nichts mehr zu tun haben. Schreit einander nicht an, redet nicht schlecht über andere und vermeidet jede Feindseligkeit. Als sein Gefangener bitte ich euch nun: Lebt so, dass Gott dadurch geehrt wird; er hat euch ja berufen, seine Kinder zu sein. Überhebt euch nicht über andere, seid freundlich und geduldig! Geht in Liebe aufeinander ein! Setzt alles daran, dass die Einheit, wie sie der Geist Gottes schenkt, bestehen bleibt. Sein Friede verbindet euch miteinander. Gott hat uns in seine Gemeinde berufen. Darum sind wir ein Leib, und es ist ein Geist, der in uns wirkt. Uns erfüllt ein und dieselbe Hoffnung. Wir haben einen Herrn, einen Glauben und eine Taufe. Und wir haben einen Gott.
