   Where My Body Type At?

Description: In this candid episode, Ayo goes in on the fashion industry's perpetuation of a singular, unrealistic beauty standard - the exaggerated hourglass figure. She breaks down how even brands attempting to be "inclusive" still fail to represent the full range of body shapes and proportions that exist beyond just "straight-size" and "plus-size" categories. Ayo doesn't hold back on calling out the psychological impacts of this lack of diversity on self-perception, confidence, and the ability to visualize what clothing would look like on your own body. Through both sarcastic humour and moments of vulnerability, she makes an impassioned call for greater body neutrality across fashion marketing and media. Thanks for reading Feminist Inc! S2 E1: Unveiling Systemic Oppression (I)

Episode Summary: In this eye-opening episode, we delve into the complex world of systemic oppression and misogyny. We break down the concepts of oppression and systemic oppression, shedding light on how these notions affect different facets of life. Systemic oppression is explored in its various forms, highlighting its historical roots and how it has become ingrained in societal structures. The episode particularly focuses on misogyny as a form of systemic oppression. Beyond mere insults, misogyny impacts women's autonomy, rights, and dignity. We uncover how misogyny is deeply embedded in history, traditions, and institutions, affecting women regardless of their background. Throughout the episode, we dive into different areas where systemic misogyny is apparent. From politics to the economic system, from cultural norms to legal structures, we analyze how these systems perpetuate gender-based oppression. The recent rejection of constitutional amendments that would have promoted gender equality serves as a stark reminder of the challenges women face in achieving equitable representation and rights. Join us as we challenge the norms, uncover the truth about systemic oppression, and advocate for a world where women are not just equal, but empowered. It's time to confront the systemic misogyny that exists around us and take steps towards creating a more just and equitable society. Misogyny as Systemic Oppression: * Defining misogyny and its manifestations across various spheres. * Emphasizing that misogyny goes beyond insults and harassment, impacting rights and autonomy. * Systemic Misogyny in Politics: * Addressing the underrepresentation of women in political positions. * Highlighting barriers like lack of funding, party support, and media coverage. * Discussing negative stereotypes and sexist treatment faced by women leaders. * Economic System's Oppression of Women: * Exploring economic disparities and limited opportunities for women. * Sharing statistics about female entrepreneurship and barriers faced. * Cultural Systems and Their Impact: * Describing how cultural norms can perpetuate gender-based oppression. * Examples of patriarchy, beauty standards, and honor culture affecting women. * Legal Systems' Role in Oppression: * Detailing how legal structures can discriminate against women. * Examples of personal status laws, criminal laws, and labor laws. * Rejection of Constitutional Amendments: * Highlighting recent legislative decisions reflecting discrimination against women. * Concluding the episode with a call to challenge and confront systemic misogyny.
