Ist die Filmbranche in Österreich gerechter und diverser geworden? Auf der Diagonale 2024 präsentierte das Österreichische Filminstitut (ÖFI) den neuen Gender Report. Wichtige Studien wie diese, auf deren inhaltlicher Grundlage 2021 die Geschlechterquote beschlossen wurde, diskutieren wir vor und mit großem Publikum. 2024 soll laut Zielvorgabe des ÖFI die Geschlechtergerechtigkeit zwischen Frauen und Männern bei der Vergabe von Fördermitteln mit 50:50 erreicht sein. Es ist also an der Zeit, alte Ziele zu evaluieren und sich neue Ziele zu stecken. Eine Runde an Gästen zieht nach der Präsentation aus den Zahlen und Tabellen film- und gesellschaftspolitische Rückschlüsse. Wer führt im Dokumentarfilm vor der Kamera das Wort und wer steht hinter der Kamera? Erstmals wird im Gender Report der österreichische Dokumentarfilm analysiert und die Frage gestellt, wie sich die Redezeit und die Präsenz von Expertinnen* und Experten in den Filmen aufteilt. Zudem fällt ein Fokus auf den Bereich Kamera: Wie kann diese nach wie vor weiße und männliche Domäne aufgebrochen werden?
