Sia

Welcome to the last episode, of the first season, of Film on the Radio! This week we’re going to do something a little bit different and cover the work of an artist over many different films, instead of just a single film. I’ve been working really hard this season to highlight female musicians in soundtrack and film scoring… and one of the most successful is our very own, Sia Furler. With contributions to over 25 film soundtracks it was a difficult task whittling down her substantial catalogue. And, of course, no discussion about screen music and Sia can be complete without the Six Feet Under finale. Thanks for listening and tell your friends about this show!<br /> <br /> <a href="https://www.vulture.com/2013/12/six-feet-under-death-montage-oral-history.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">‘Breathe Me’: The Oral History of the Six Feet Under Finale’s Death Montage</a><br /> <a href="https://www.vice.com/en_au/article/ne3jmg/how-the-closing-scene-of-six-feet-under-helped-shape-sias-career" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Vice: How the Closing Scene of &#8216;Six Feet Under&#8217; Helped Shape Sia’s Career</a><br /> <a href="https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/sia-face-songs-chandelier-maddie-ziegler-712691/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rolling Stone: How Sia Saved Herself</a><br /> * <a href="https://time.com/4209769/sia-best-songs-written-for-other-artists-ranked/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Time: All 73 Songs Sia Has Written for Other Artists, Ranked</a><br /> * <a href="https://stylecaster.com/songs-you-never-knew-were-written-by-sia-furler/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Stylecaster: 20 Epic Songs You Never Knew Were Written by Sia</a><br /> * <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Songs_written_by_Sia_(musician)" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Wikipedia &#8211; Songs Written by Sia</a><br /> <br /> A transcript of this episode is <a href="https://joy.org.au/filmontheradio/2020/01/27/sia-transcript/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">available here.</a><br /> Credits<br /> <br /> * Produced, hosted and edited by <a href="https://twitter.com/cookiedaux" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Carla Donnelly</a><br /> * Theme music by Carlos D&#8217;Alessio, from the Delicatessen score<br /> <br />
