<p>Willkommen zur allerersten Folge von "<strong>Final Girl - Dem Genre-Filmpodcast mit dem weiblichen Blick</strong>". Hierfür habe ich mir einen ganz besonderen Film herausgesucht. Vierfach Oscar-nominiert und ausgezeichnet mit dem Goldjungen für das beste Hair and Make Up: Wir sprechen heute über <strong>THE SUBSTANCE (2024)</strong> von Coralie Fargeat mit Demi Moore und Margaret Qualley in den Hauptrollen. </p><p>Elisabeth Sparkle ist ein alternder Star in Hollywood. Sie hat einen Stern auf dem Walk of Fame und ist die Hauptprotagonistin einer Aerobic-TV-Show namens „Sparkle your live with Elisabeth“, aufgezogen in bester 80ies-Jane-Fonda-Manier. Als Elisabeth aufgrund ihres Alters ersetzt werden soll, nimmt sie ein dubioses Angebot an: Sie bekommt die Möglichkeit mit Hilfe einer Substanz eine bessere Version ihrer selbst zu werden. Und: es funktioniert tatsächlich. Elisabeth erschafft eine zweite, eine jüngere Version von sich, Sue, die ab sofort in die Fußstapfen ihrer Schöpferin tritt und zum neuen Star avanciert. Der Haken ist allerdings, dass die beiden Frauen zwar gleichzeitig existieren, jedoch nicht gleichzeitig aktiv am Leben teilnehmen können und sichauch nicht ein Bewusstsein teilen. Jede von ihnen kann exakt sieben Tage leben, während die andere sich in einer Art Ohnmacht befindet, dann erfolgt ein Tausch. Ist das tatsächlich das, was Elisabeth sich gewünscht hat? Nicht wirklich, so viel sei schon einmal vorab verraten aber steigen wir doch zusammen tiefer ein!</p><p><br></p><p>Da dies die erste Folge ist, seid bitte etwas nachsichtig mit mir. Ich arbeite noch an der perfekten Soundqualität (Stichwort Hall).
