Vogel Helps Homeless Kids Find Their Brightside - Karen Hughes

On this episode of Find Your Brightside, Jerry Joyner sits down with Karen Hughes, President and CEO of Vogel, to talk about the hidden reality of child and family homelessness in Dallas. When most people hear the word homeless, they picture an adult on the side of the road. Karen helps us see the part of the story that often goes unseen - infants, toddlers, preschool children, and families living in shelters, hotels, domestic violence situations, or moving from couch to couch without a stable place to call home. Vogel provides much more than childcare. Through its Bridge to Hope program, Vogel helps families work toward stability through high-quality early childhood education, case management, health support, mental health services, employment pathways, financial guidance, emergency assistance, and a safe place where children can simply be kids. Karen also shares powerful stories of children overcoming trauma, families fighting their way back to stability, and the volunteers, donors, businesses, and community partners who make Vogel’s work possible.Learn more about Vogel, donate, volunteer, or get involved at vogelalcove.org.When you shine a light, even just a little, people find their way!
