In vier Folgen nähert sich der Journalist und Moderator Michel Abdollahi einem Hauptwerk der europäischen Kunstgeschichte aus der Sammlung des Städel Museums, dem Gemälde "Die Blendung Simsons" (1636) von Rembrandt. Der größte niederländische Künstler des 17. Jahrhunderts malte im Jahr 1636 eine alttestamentarische Geschichte auf eine rund zwei mal drei Meter große Leinwand. Seit der historischen Auktion 1990 ist das Kunstwerk aus den Augen der Öffentlichkeit verschwunden. Die drei letzten Jahrzehnte des Gemäldes beginnen in Japan und führen zu einem Österreicher und fragwürdigen Karibik-Geschäften. In New York kommt Johannes dem aktuellen Besitzer des Gemäldes schließlich überraschend nahe. Was nicht bedeutet, dass das „Bildnis des Dr. Gachet“ nicht auch in der Schweiz sein könnte.
