The Real Crisis in the Catholic Church

Catholics have heard the phrase “crisis in the Church” repeated so often that it has become a catchall explanation for nearly everything: weak preaching, poor catechesis, liturgical abuse, corrupt bishops, Vatican II, the Novus Ordo, and every controversy coming out of Rome.

But what if those things are not the crisis itself?

In this episode, T.J. Haines argues that the deeper crisis is a growing inability among Catholics to recognize, receive, and reason from truth. That loss has left many Catholics vulnerable to sweeping claims, distorted histories, false alternatives, and arguments that sound faithful while leading them further from the Church.

(00:00) - Intro and Church Crisis Setup

(01:13) - Why the Mantra Misses

(13:07) - Lies, Heresy Claims, and The Forge Plug

(21:34) - The Forge Newsletter Pitch

(23:47) - The Real Church Crisis

(37:50) - Antichrist Warning Finale

Do Aliens Exist? - Angels, Demons, and ALIENS

Drawing from Scripture, theology, and the wisdom of St. Thomas Aquinas, I take on one of the most intriguing questions in our time. I explore why belief in intelligent extraterrestrial life is not only unlikely but also theologically problematic. But this is also a lesson about angels and demons!
THIS IS A RE-RELEASE of an old podcast that I think current listeners of Fire Branded will enjoy. DISREGARD any dated references to my social, my web addresses, and so on.

It’s a necessary component, not random. I talk about the nature of angels and demons, examine UFO sightings with both logic and faith, and explain why what people often call “aliens” may be better understood as demonic manifestations—or even human technology cloaked in secrecy.

(00:00) - Introduction and Tonight's Topic

(00:52) - Exploring the Existence of Aliens

(02:51) - Scriptural Insights and Human Uniqueness

(08:07) - Analyzing UFO Sightings and Theological Implications

(25:35) - Debating the Nature of Alien Spacecraft

(26:16) - Understanding Angels and Demons

(38:54) - Theological Implications of Aliens

(48:09) - Engaging with the Community and Final Thoughts

The SSPX and the Lie of False Fidelity

The SSPX says it is faithful to Rome while rejecting Rome’s judgment. In this episode, T.J. Haines explains why the latest SSPX defiance exposes the deeper problem with radical traditionalist rebellion — and why The Forge exists to form Catholics for truth, clarity, and fidelity.

The Society of St. Pius X says it is faithful to Rome. But when Rome warns, pleads, corrects, and finally acts, the SSPX rejects the judgment and continues on its own course.

In this episode, T.J. Haines responds to the SSPX’s rejection of the Vatican’s excommunication decree following its unauthorized episcopal consecrations. The issue is not merely liturgical preference, nor is it a simple matter of “traditional Catholics” being mistreated by Rome. The deeper problem is false fidelity: professing loyalty to the Church while refusing the authority of the Church when that authority becomes inconvenient.

(00:00) - SSPX Excommunication Fallout

(04:25) - Fidelity Claims vs Defiance

(07:48) - Rome’s Outreach Timeline

(12:55) - What SSPX Gets Right

(17:32) - Forge Relaunch and Wrap-Up
