My College Football Top 25 After Week 6 | SEC Collapse and 7 Ranked Big 12 Schools

Week 6 college football was pure CHAOS, and my NEW Top 25 rankings have some massive shakeups! Georgia takes down Alabama, Miami continues to dominate, BYU keeps winning, and Texas Tech, Utah, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Indiana are battling for position. But which teams ACTUALLY deserve to be ranked? On today's episode of First and 16, I'm breaking down my updated College Football Top 25 rankings after Week 6, including the biggest winners, losers, overrated teams, and potential College Football Playoff contenders. We're also talking about the growing controversy surrounding ESPN's College GameDay and whether the national media is disrespecting the smaller programs and conferences that make college football special. My recent post about College GameDay reached more than 1.4 MILLION views on X, and it's sparked an important conversation. Topics include: Miami, Georgia, and Notre Dame battling for the top spots BYU, Utah, and Texas Tech representing the Big 12 Alabama's loss and the SEC playoff debate Texas, Houston, and Oklahoma State in the rankings UCLA's surprising undefeated season Why two-loss teams are OUT of my Top 25 ESPN College GameDay controversy How NIL and the transfer portal are changing college football Unlike the preseason-influenced AP Poll, my rankings focus on what teams have actually accomplished ON THE FIELD. Do you agree with my Top 25? Who's too high, who's too low, and who's missing? Drop YOUR Top 10 in the comments! Help First and 16 reach 1,000 subscribers before the end of the regular season! Big 12 Expansion: UConn & USF?! CBS Could Change EVERYTHING in 2030

Could UConn and South Florida be future members of the Big 12? A new realignment discussion involving Jim Williams, the Big 12's next media-rights negotiations and the changing television landscape has put UConn and USF squarely into the expansion conversation. In this episode of First and 16, Adam breaks down why these two programs could make sense for the Big 12, what a potentially aggressive CBS/TNT bid for Big 12 media rights around 2030 could mean, and how future college-sports legislation could completely reshape conference realignment. USF brings Florida recruiting, the Tampa market and a new on-campus stadium. UConn brings one of the biggest brands in college basketball and significant national recognition. If the Big 12 eventually wants to grow toward 20 members—and ACC programs are unavailable—those two schools could become very intriguing candidates. We also discuss possible alternatives including Boise State, Oregon State, San Diego State and UNLV, and whether Brett Yormark's push to maximize the value of Big 12 basketball could make UConn especially attractive. Is Big 12 expansion actually coming? Nothing is guaranteed. Adam gives the idea roughly a 3–3.5 out of 10 chance right now—but in college football realignment, we've seen far crazier things happen.
