Grafted In and Wearing Tassels? Keep Your Head on a Swivel | Oct 7 Reflection

Shalom! Three years ago, on October 7, 2023, Israel was attacked. On the Jewish calendar, this year's anniversary fell a few days ago on Shabbat, during Shemini Atzeret, the 8th day of Sukkot. That's the day the attack happened in 2023, and it's meant to be a day of peace. The Feast of Tabernacles points to the future in Zechariah, when all the nations will keep this festival after Yeshua returns. Those of us who are grafted in, keep the Torah, and wear the blue tassels look like Jews to the people who attacked Israel. And they won't stop to ask whether you're a Christian or a Jew. On October 7, people from more than 20 nations were in Israel, because Israel is a Western democracy that welcomes everybody, just like the United States. Even on a perfect, cloudless day here in Kansas City, the enemies of freedom and peace are still plotting. So brothers and sisters, keep your head on a swivel. Praise Yahweh that we get to know Him at this time, and that we can look forward to the peace that will come when Yeshua returns and sets up a Messianic, Torah-observant world for 1,000 years. May Yahweh bless you and keep you in the name of His Son, Yeshua. #October7 #Israel #SheminiAtzeret #Sukkot #Yeshua #Torah #GraftedIn #Shorts

Giving Until You are Homeless is not Charity

Hi, this is Chris at firstcenturychristianity.net (https://firstcenturychristianity.net/) with some tough love. In the past year, two capable, hardworking men I know have become homeless. They gave everything to "friends" they met online but never in person. There's always a story: they're sick, something mysterious comes up, and somehow you can never meet. If this sounds familiar, you're being scammed. Real charity fixes the root causes that leave people in need and helps them get back on their feet. Take care of your own basic needs first: housing, food, utilities, transportation, and income. After that, you can give a small portion to charity. If you give your food money away and then rely on a church for help, you're taking from people who are truly in need. 📺 I made a longer video with practical solutions. The link is in the comments. 🙏 If you know someone caught in this, please send them this video. It might help wake them up and get them out. Charity Scams Targeting Believers: Warning Signs and How to Give Wisely

Chris from First Century Christianity, a real congregation in North Kansas City, Missouri, shares a difficult but important warning about charity and internet scams. In the past year, our congregation has seen two people who don't know each other lose everything to online scammers. They gave all their money to strangers claiming to be a sick child in Africa or someone who is in Iowa one day and Florida the next. Both kept giving even after they became homeless. Any help given to someone caught in a scam like this, whether it's food, clothing or shelter, can end up in the scammer's pocket.Chris also talks about a common scam aimed at Sabbath-keepers. People pretending to be believers send emails claiming to be pastors overseas. They use familiar words like Yahweh, Yeshua, the calendar, the Sabbath Sentinel and the Church of God. Then they ask for money to keep the Feast of Tabernacles, right when your own assembly is preparing for it.In this video:• How charity and romance-style scams pull people into poverty• Red flags in emails from fake overseas ministries• Why our charity gives only within the U.S., to people we actually know• How to break free from a scam: cut all ties, get a new phone number, leave the platforms where scammers found you and start rebuilding• Trusted local options like the Northland Assistance Center in Kansas CityPlease don't give money to people you don't actually know and aren't physically helping. If you want to support people in need, give to charities that check who they're helping. When you give to us, your money won't go to scammers, either directly or indirectly.Have you helped someone recover from a scam like this? Please reach out. We'd like to learn what has worked.May Yahweh bless you and keep you in the name of His Son, Yeshua.
