Florida Basketball is at the summit of the sport fresh off of winning the third national championship in school history 3 weeks ago in San Antonio.

Neil W. Blackmon (Saturday Down South) has followed the program for over 25 years and covered it up close for the last several seasons. He reflects on Florida's last 4 decades of hoops, offers historical perspective on the program's accomplishments, and offers his thoughts on how a third title and 6th Final Four assures Florida basketball's status as bona fide SEC royalty. More importantly, Neil dives into why the Gators have a path to making being a national basketball power sustainable.

Noting that Florida has never lost a head coach in basketball because of a lack of administrative support, Neil praises the hire by Scott Stricklin and his commitment to Florida's success while issuing a call for continued investment in an era when everyone in the SEC is determined to be great.
