The one who justifies us, and disqualifies any charge against His elect.

Qual é o Objetivo Principal do Homem? - Pr. Ewerton Decastro

“Qual é o nosso objetivo?”
- Estamos constantemente buscando saber qual o nosso propósito, o sentido da vida, qual nosso chamado... Por isso livros como “Uma vida com propósitos” vendeu tanto.
O primeira pergunta que o Catecismo de Spurgeon, ou da Assembléia de Westminster, por exemplo trás é
1. Pergunta: Qual é o objetivo principal do homem?
Resposta: O objetivo principal do homem é glorificar a Deus (I Coríntios 10:31), e ter comunhão com Ele para sempre (Salmo 73:25-26).
O apóstolo Paulo deixa claro qual era seu objetivo, e gostaria muito que alguém me dissesse que esse não deveria ser também o nosso.
O de engrandecer Cristo em nosso corpo, quer pela vida, quer pela morte. Não é algo que fazemos quando viemos para a igreja, é algo parte do nosso dia a dia.
“Portanto, para mim, o viver é Cristo, e o morrer é lucro.”

Who do you say Jesus is?

We live in times when TRUTH is subjective. What truth? Yours? Mine?
500 years after the Reformation and here we are, knowing as much about God as the pagans down the street.
We got so lost in talking about what God did, and what God does, and what God will do that we lost sight of God is.
When we come to this passage of Scripture, the disciples have been walking with Jesus for a while. Jesus is no stranger to them. By now they have seen Jesus preaching, healing, calming a storm, multiplying bread, twice; they have been sent on a mission with power and authority to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons…
And Jesus asks “Who do you say that I am?”
Is it a trick question?
