Folk My Life - Podcast Introduction
Welcome to the ‘Folk, My Life’ podcast. If you already heard of FolkMyLife, from our weekly playlists, or our gig reviews, then hello to you and thanks for being here. If you are totally new to Folk my life, which I suspect you might be, I want to quickly tell you about our weekly playlist. We absolutely love sharing new and interesting music from amazing soloists and musicians from around the world. I got so tired of “the algorithms” serving up the same old lists of mathematically identical music to stuff I had already listened to. I don’t know if you know what I mean, but the “play radio” button just wasn’t ‘fuzzy’ enough for me. I want to be challenged and to hear things outside of my comfort zone, I wanted to discover something new. If I am honest my music listening has become a bit of a desert, sooo much sand and not much variety, so we decided to make a list. So now, we create a new playlist every week and we post it on folkmylife.co.uk. If you're interested in folk, roots and americana, singer/songwriters and independent artists, then I think you are gonna love the list. Take yourself to your favourite steaming platform and search for the folk my life weekly playlist, hopefully you'll find us there, and you can follow the playlist. We replace every track on the list each week with 20 new songs so with a bit of luck you'll find something you really love. That’s the playlist covered, let’s talk about the pod a bit… I get so frustrated listening to the radio, and the coverage that new and emerging artists get. By the time the DJ has waffled a bit and asked a question there is only enough air time left to sneak in a plug for a new album or a fourth coming gig. I wanted to give space to new and emerging singers and songwriters to talk about their music and there lives without one eye on the clock. Really hope you enjoy the Podcast and our playlists. You can look up the list at www.folkmylife.co.uk (www.folkmylife.co.uk), where we publish gig reviews, music notes and previously featured lists... You can follow the weekly list on Spotify here (https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2R8p2Dt6sZYtrOwGZnxfPN?si=7cc5446ae4a44bf5)...
