The award-winning 'For the People', produced by John Voket, focuses on issues related to aging, veterans, youth, education, health and human services, public safety, workforce and consumer issues and the environment. Broadcast segments and guests explore concerns facing communities we serve, and detail how individuals and communities may respond to address and/or mitigate those concerns.
This week, we'll go from the sea to the soil and toss in an informative dose of consumer protection for good measure. We'll open up visiting with a rep from SoundWaters - talking about this unique floating classroom and hands-on programming that is introducing thousands of young people to the wonder and science of Long Island Sound.
Then, we're rekindling a former quarterly feature here at For the People bringing in a consumer advisor from BBB serving Connecticut to get you up to date on some of the scams and warnings emerging from BBB's files, research, and marketplace complaints.
And we'll close reconnecting with Bridgeport's Green Village Initiative. Like many farms across the state, GVI is in full harvest and winter prep mode, so we'll find out how their summer went and how you can be part of GVI's biggest celebration of the year - their upcoming Harvest Fest.

The Elevation Center at UNH

So, in this segment, we'll hear all about the University of New Haven's Elevation Center, a pioneering 133,000-square-foot innovation and applied technology hub designed to connect students with corporate partners, research opportunities, and workforce development.
