About Fr. Ian's Homilies
“And beginning with Moses and all the prophets, [Jesus] interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself” (Luke 24.27)—and in doing so, Jesus shows us that the scriptures are about Himself. Convicted by this truth, Fr. Ian Gaston preaches every weekend the mystery of Christ as revealed in the Sunday readings. It is Jesus who we seek—and in these homilies, Fr. Ian hopes to provide a glimpse of Him. Father Ian is a Roman Catholic Priest serving at Christ Cathedral in the Diocese of Orange in California.

And there in exile, how could they hope to return? They had no armies. These were gone. They had no dynasty. The king's line, it seemed to have disappeared. Who would bring them back? Who would care enough about this one nation to bring them back to their home? They were in captivity in Babylon with no hope. And it's important for us to remember that this story of Israel, this true story of Israel, is also a symbol and points to the story of the human race. […]
