Sam LaPorta is 'all good' if he's not playing for Lions next year
It's not every day that an athlete shares how they ACTUALLY feel in 2026, but Lions tight end Sam LaPorta did just that this week. On a recent episode of the popular podcast "Pardon My Take," LaPorta made headlines when discussing his contract, saying in part, "in three months if I don't get to wear the Honolulu Blue and play for the Lions anymore, it's going to be all good. I'll get paid somewhere else."
Did LaPorta sound like a mercenary when he made these comments? And was he right about what he said? Andrew Birkle and Shawn Windsor debate it on the latest episode of the Freep Sports Show.

Are Lions actually in great spot for Super Bowl? And should Red Wings just trade Dylan Larkin?
What can recent history tell us about the Detroit Lions' Super Bowl chances? If the Seahawks, Eagles and Chiefs are any indication, the Lions are in a great spot to contend. Shawn Windsor and Andrew Birkle open the latest episode of the Freep Sports Show by discussing the Lions' position coming off the bye and why Dan Campbell was in a good mood coming off the bye week.
Then, another week, another Dylan Larkin trade Rumor. ESPN's John Buccigross was the latest to make waves, saying he thinks the Red Wings will trade Dylan Larkin in the next seven-to-10 days. Is now the right time to make the move? And should the Wings be looking for picks or a win-now player? Shawn Windsor and Andrew Birkle break it down in the latest episode of the Freep Sports Show.
