DEAR WHITE PEOPLE. 🎙️ | The French Dream in America
Are Historically Black Colleges and Universities racist? Or have we completely misunderstood why they exist?
It all started with a conversation with my friends about my dream of attending an HBCU in the United States. What was supposed to be a simple discussion about my future quickly turned into a heated debate about racism, privilege, segregation, and equality.
In this episode of The French Dream in America, I'm breaking down the history of HBCUs, why they were created, and why celebrating Black excellence doesn't mean discriminating against anyone else.
From the Civil Rights Movement to the realities of being Black in today's society, we're talking about the uncomfortable conversations people often avoid. I'll also be sharing some powerful films, documentaries, and books worth exploring.
Because here's the thing: Equality doesn't mean pretending we all started from the same place.
This isn't about hating white people. It's about understanding history, questioning privilege, and learning to listen.
🎧 Let's have the conversation.
