<p>Today we'll look at a super fun expression <em>poser un lapin</em>, which means "to stand somebody up in French". The verb <em>poser</em> means to put or to place and the masculine noun <em>lapin</em> means "rabbit". In the late 19th century <em>poser un lapin</em> meant to leave without paying. However, over time it came to mean to stand somebody up or to miss an appointment. </p>
