Welcome to the Freya Podcast, a space to slow down, breathe, and return to yourself.
Through honest conversations, guided meditation practices, and reflections on the nervous system, conscious breathing, motherhood, birth, and personal growth, we'll explore what it means to live with greater presence, peace, and intention. Each episode offers practical tools to help you move out of the thinking mind, reconnect with your body, and remember the wisdom that has always lived within you.
Because before we do, we must first learn to be.
S2 E8: Natural Birth Preparation: How Reconnecting with my Breath Prepared Me for a Home Birth
What if the contractions are too intense? What if I can’t do this?
I had these thoughts before birth and even while giving birth. Yet I went from living with anxiety to experiencing two empowered home births without medication.
In this episode, I share how years of working with my body and breath prepared me for birth without me even realizing it. I talk about why studying birth and becoming a doula gave me information, but didn’t automatically make me feel safe, and what truly helped me move from fear toward trust.
You’ll learn how changing my relationship with discomfort transformed the way I experienced contractions, along with a practical breathing tool you can begin using today to meet physical and emotional intensity without immediately fighting it.
Because preparing for birth isn’t only about learning positions or creating the perfect plan. It’s also about learning how to stay connected to your body when things become intense.

S2 E7: Finding Your Strength Through Birth
Are you pregnant and afraid of giving birth or wondering how you’ll move through the pain?
I had those questions too. In this episode, I share my journey of preparing for birth and birthing my two boys at home without pain medication. I talk about what helped me feel safe, how I connected with my breath and body, and why those experiences changed the way I saw myself.
We explore fear of birth, the importance of feeling supported, and how breathwork and body awareness can help you meet the intensity of labor. I also share a simple breathing practice you can begin exploring as you prepare for birth and motherhood.
This conversation is about discovering your own strength while leaving room for the uncertainty, choices, and support that every birth deserves.

S2 E6: I Had No Idea How to Discipline My Kids, Until I Learned This
Why don’t my kids listen to me, and how do I discipline them without punishing them?
When my boys were babies, motherhood felt natural to me. I knew how to nurture them, hold them and respond to their needs. But as they grew older, became more independent and started testing boundaries, I realized something uncomfortable: I had no idea how to discipline them.
In this episode, I share what I’m learning about the difference between discipline and punishment, setting loving but firm boundaries, and regulating myself before reacting to my children. We explore how our own childhood experiences shape the way we parent and why learning to listen to the body and trust our intuition matters so deeply in motherhood.
This conversation goes beyond parenting. It’s also about the way we discipline ourselves, pursue our dreams and stay devoted to the life we truly want.
Because discipline doesn’t have to mean shame, control or punishment. Discipline can be devotion, to our children, to ourselves and to the future we are helping create.
