The death of Frida Kahlo

Pain and suffering remained with Frida Kahlo throughout her life. In the last years of her life, her health deteriorated a lot, as she had gangrene In her right leg, and she spent a long time in the hospital and used to live on morphine as a pain reliever, then her leg amputated to the knee and she lived dependent on metal stents. After her suffering with the illness, she passed away in 1954 at the age of 47, due to a lung infection. According to her will, her body was burned and placed inside a jar in her blue house, to end her last message “ I hope the exit is joyful and I hope never to return”. Frida’s struggle in political and feminism activities

Frida Kahlo was considered a model for feminist and rebellion, her bold personality, surprising and revolutionary actions have made her legend she is today. She knew how to take advantage of her position and her personality, since her appearance she drew attention through her distinctive Mexican clothes, and her Repuzo scarf that she put around her shoulder or put it in braids of her hair. Her scarf became the focus of Mexico struggle for freedom. Kahlo also was known for her anti capitalist political stances. She covered in her paintings some social taboos and she emphasis on details that highlight features of national identity. Through her art she tried to portray the reality around her, but what was amazing in her depiction of reality, that she always envelops her in unfamiliar atmosphere.
