Fridays at First is a new podcast by Rev. Dr. Richard Gibbons, Senior Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, a thriving Christian community in the heart of downtown Greenville, South Carolina.
You don’t have to be a church member to enjoy the weekly episodes. In addition to some pretty witty jokes, Dr. Gibbons provides an inspirational and encouraging start to your weekend. Fridays@First | A Season of Gratitude, Generosity, and Christmas Celebrations
As Stewardship Sunday approaches, Rev. Dr. Richard Gibbons shares a heartfelt message of gratitude for the generosity and faithful support of our First Pres congregation. This week on Fridays@First, he reflects on the importance of stewardship, looks ahead to Commitment Sunday on October 25, and encourages us to prayerfully consider how God is calling us to support His work in the coming year.
Richard also highlights the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal and gives us a preview of some exciting holiday events, including Christmas for a Cause, Steven Curtis Chapman's The Music of Christmas tour, and our beloved Christmas@First concerts, Behold Our God.

Fridays@First | Greetings from Egypt and What's Happening at First Pres
Rev. Dr. Richard Gibbons is back from Egypt with stories and highlights from his visit with our ministry partners! This week on Fridays@First, he shares his experiences at the Presbyterian Church's 125th Annual Prayer Conference in Luxor, the dedication of a new church, and a meaningful visit with our partner congregation at Ain Shams Church in Cairo.
Richard also shares some exciting things happening at First Pres, including the opening of Fresh Start CoffeeWorks at the Intersection Café, the kickoff of Operation Christmas Child, and the upcoming Christmas for a Cause concert benefiting Isaiah 117 House. Plus, there's an important reminder to complete the Congregational Survey by Sunday, October 11.
Finally, Richard looks ahead to Sunday worship as we return to Revelation and explore Christ's message to the church at Laodicea (Revelation 3:14–22).
