About Friendly Atmosphere Newcastle Music Scene Podcast
The Friendly Atmosphere Newcastle Music Scene Podcast will guide you, in a strange way through the wrath of the Newcastle upon Tyne city music scene. Wonderful local music is punctuated with long rants, silly comic sketches and daft arguments about music and other daft things in this, the truly only entertaining (and only for that matter) podcast about the Newcastle music scene.

Babies - MEIOSIS. Live at Two By Two 4th July 2026
Today is #bandcampfriday, which means all sales on today will go directly to the artists without Bandcamp taking a cut To mark the occasion I have added a bonus recording of our one & only gig at Two By Two, Newcastle on 4th July as a bonus with all digital downloads of the brand new Meiosis album 'All I Know Is That I Know Nothing'
We recorded the set through the sound desk so it sounds pretty decent & I'd love you all to hear it as we were pretty proud of ourselves that day!
The set features tracks from the new album plus some old Meiosis classics.
1. Wishing It Was Sacred (Live at Two By Two. 4th July 2026)
2. This Time (Live at Two By Two. 4th July 2026)
3. Reset/Start Again ((Live at Two By Two. 4th July 2026)
4. Dead Slug (Live at Two By Two. 4th July 2026)
5. Cartoon Cats (Looking For My Friends) (Live at Two By Two. 4th July 2026)

8. On A Mission (Live at Two By Two. 4th July 2026)
9. Play Games With The Freaks (Live at Two By Two. 4th July 2026)
The live band for this set were a proper GBL who also feature on the studio album:
Vocals & Guitar - Martin Thompson
Vocals & Guitar - Simon Chester
Vocals & Guitar - Jade Emerson
Piano - GW Lang
Bass - Andy Ludbrook
Drums Micky Leach
Please consider buying the album on Bandcamp today as not only does it help us recoup some of the costs of making & releasing but it really does encourage me to want to make more music & release it in this way in the future.
I'm not allowed to sell our cover of 'Babies' by Pulp, which we played as the climax of this set, so I have popped the audio of that track on Soundcloud for you to sample for nowt.
