#242 | Reviews and Other Rambles: Stormruler, Fat Randy, Nostalghia, Cloud Rat, and More

What’s up, everyone! In case you missed the announcement on our socials a couple of weeks back, we’re going to be taking an indefinite hiatus from the podcast. Before we flitter off into the void, we have two more episodes to share with you. This is the second to last episode we recorded around Halloween 2022; the final one was recorded around Thanksgiving and will be released in about a month. There might be a time in the future when we return for a one-off episode or two, but we have no concrete plans (if Creed reunites, we’ll consider it).
In this penultimate episode, we cover releases from Marigold King and Drumcorps to Crippling Alcoholism and Cloud Rat. Cacophonous black metal, aggressively mellow noise rock, cybernetic hyperdeath, and emotive grindpunk are but a few of the genres explored.
Bands/artists covered in this episode include Blattaria, fleshwater, SkyThala, Liturgy, Oozing Wound, Gatekeeper, Mourning, Putrescine, Kosmogyr, Fucked Up, ZOMBIESHARK!, Marigold King, Swampworm, Daniel Patrick Cohen, Drumcorps, The God Awful Truth, Under the Pier, Crippling Alcoholism, Polywhy, Winterquilt, Stormruler, Fat Randy, Cloud Rat, Nostalghia, and others.

#241 | Reviews and Other Rambles: Sunflo’er, The Callous Daoboys, Pilori, Dale Kerrigan, and More

What's up, vacuum vagabonds! We hope all is well in your respective corners of the world. As is tradition, we have a heaping bundle of new(-ish) music to sputter on about. A good deal of the albums and EPs contained herein date back to August and September 2022, but we hope there might be an intriguing release or two you might have missed upon initial release.
Gurgling cosmic death metal, Tolkienian cozy synth, balmy mathcore, rancid goregrind, and belligerent hardcore punk comprise a handful of the frequencies unearthed in this episode.
Bands/artists covered in this episode include Machine Music (compilation), REZN, Osi and The Jupiter, Elder, Mindforce, Chrome Ghost, Wipes, Adzes, Universally Estranged, Dream Unending, Dregahir, Heksebrann, KFC Murder Chicks, Lymphatic Phlegm, The Bug, Зло, God Mother, The Callous Daoboys, Sunflo'er, Dale Kerrigan, Pilori, and others.

#240 | Reviews and Other Rambles: Still/Form, Asunojokei, Throth, Mico, and More

What's up, folks! You know the drill. We have yet another digital box of music and other odd frequencies to rummage through. As is tradition, the material covered in this one is "dated" in relative terms. Many of these releases dropped back in July/August 2022, but here's hoping that this episode might pull your attention toward a release you potentially overlooked.
Releases covered in this one range from GEL, Organ Failure, and Serling to Asunojokei and Crowfeeder. Scathing hardcore punk, HM2-drenched goregrind, exuberant blackgaze, burnished breakcore, and sludgy metal-punk comprise but a smattering of the noises explored.
Bands/artists covered in this episode include Ithaca, Alleageaon, Grave Blankets, Fallfiftyfeet, Paul Ortiz (Chimp Spanner), The Sentient Thumb, Clutch, Netherlands, Arkheth, ZOMBIESHARK!, Forlesen, GEL, Cold Brats, Fromjoy, Crowfeeder, Spider God, Grinning God, Organ Failure, Rhymes of Destruction, Marion, Serling, Asunojokei, Still/Form, Mico, Throth, and others.
