I AM Radio: The Art of Shattering Glass with Hala Moddelmog

This week, we sit down with glass-ceiling smasher, corporate and nonprofit leader, Atlanta booster, storyteller, mentor, mother and grandmother, community organizer, and woman of the hour Hala Moddelmog. Hala is a fellow Atlantian, spending nearly her entire career in this southeastern metropolis. Shout out for the home team!

Hala is currently the President and CEO of the Woodruff Arts Center in downtown Atlanta. She has spent nearly 30 years in President and CEO roles from Metro Atlanta Chamber to Arby’s Restaurant Group to Susan G. Komen - and more. Needless to say, ain’t no mountain high enough!

In our 30-minute conversation, Hala shares her story of “having it all,” her unwavering commitment to the Atlanta community, her experience with storytelling and art as mechanisms for learning and change, and her incredible take on how to invest in others “doing the work.”

Hala was among the first to join the I AM 111 to support the “making of” the I AM Series. In this episode, we ask Hala why she joined, and she surprised us with the most authentic and powerful answer!

“I saw two women putting everything on the line to do something important, and I thought sign me up! Let me be a little bit a part of this.” We won’t give it all away, but the TL;DR is: If you can show up for others in the “arena,” do.

Hala describes her experience being part of a generation that had to break proverbial glass ceilings, and how she and her fellow “glass shatterers” won’t stop because it’s just not fixed yet! And finally, the pièce de résistance, and our real takeaway from this conversation… The art of shattering that glass isn’t just in its breaking, it’s in turning around and offering a helping hand to those that follow with hammers. Mic drop. 🎤

Support and Follow Hala:

Woodruff Arts Center

Hala Moddelmog: Woodruff Arts Center

This is an IT ALL Media Production. I AM Radio: Unleash Your Sexuality and Embody Your Power with Narkis Alon

This week, Narkis Alon joins I AM Radio to share her experience and, now, expertise with pleasure and power. Narkis is a serial social entrepreneur, bestselling author and community builder.

As an entrepreneur and someone who was never shy to pick up a microphone 🎤, she says she used to appear empowered and confident but in reality, she was seeking validation. At the time, she had yet to truly understand or embrace her body and sexuality. In our conversation, she explains her ah-ha moment and the challenging journey that followed. We packed this story into 30 minutes (Cliffs Notes, girl), but you can dive deeper (and we recommend that you do!) with her bestselling book “Present Woman” which explores the connection between our relationships with our bodies and leadership.

Today, Narkis speaks and leads workshops around the world 🌏on entrepreneurship, leadership and sexuality. She is also the co-founder of Double You, a global community for women leaders seeking support on their professional journey. But more than this, Narkis describes how Double You creates a culture of women who want to keep their wild, “animal” side alive while fostering their ambition and belonging to a supportive, connected sisterhood. Hell yes, to that description. Sign us up!

This fun and introspective conversation takes us down unexpected paths as we discuss nomadic life, embracing discomfort for the sake of growth, all-girls schools, muting voices to find your own and forgetting to hit “unmute”, improvising, and dispelling the idea of being “too much!”

30-minutes with Narkis is cup-filling, and will have you saying aloud to yourself, “Damn, I feel seen.” I did. It might also have you checking her website for US workshop dates. ✋

Press play now and join us on the journey to unleash and embody. 🦁

Support and Follow Narkis:

Narkis Alon’s Website

Double You

Read: Present Woman

This is an IT ALL Media Production. I AM Radio: "Culture Needs to Catch Up" with Gretchen Barton

This week, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Gretchen Barton for a 30-minute conversation that honestly, shifts paradigms. ➡️

We were first introduced to Gretchen through a mutual friend, and in our initial meeting (after merely minutes!) we were so enthralled with both her and her work that we couldn’t wait to share it with literally anyone who would listen. Trust us, you’ll feel the same and all you have to do is press play!

Gretchen is a researcher and strategist in the political and policy space, and her work centers around the psychology underpinning behavior change and rewriting narratives. Say less. You know we are here 👏 for 👏 it 👏!

She is also the Founder and Principal of Worthy Strategy Group, LLC, a research and behavioral science consulting group specializing in uncovering and understanding how and why people think, feel, and behave as they do on a deep level, - wait - AND she’s the Lead Convener of the American Leadership Project. Not sure what all of that means, you say!? Well, believe us, ya want to know! And Gretchen will give you the TL;DR herself.

Over coffee, we speak about everything from presidential elections to Jonathan Taylor Thomas. We learn how stories she heard from Holocaust survivors in her community as a child influenced her pursuit of psychology and research. How founding a business was a bold act to not only follow her passion but also create the change she hopes to see in the world. And how telling better stories can shift culture. “Culture needs to catch up,” she says. It’s not enough to have women represented in media, we need to change how they are represented.

Okay, ready? LFG. Press play.

More on the American Leadership Project: 🇺🇸
The American Leadership Project is a narrative initiative to build the runway for a woman to run for and win the presidency. Bringing together minds across the political, academic, and cultural spaces, the project looks to support women running for office and make it possible for women to break the "highest, hardest glass ceiling" by helping culture makers tell better stories about women - stories that are missing today from our cultural lexicon - and help our society be able to imagine women favorably in leadership. 🙌

Support and Follow Gretchen:

Worthy Strategy Group, LLC

American Leadership Project

LinkedIn

This is an IT ALL Media Production.
