Memorial Service - Johnny D. Higgins September 30, 1944 - October 3, 2026 This funeral service for John Higgins centers on the theological truth that believers can rejoice in their tribulations because God uses suffering to produce endurance, proven character, and hope. The sermon highlights John's life as a testament to this principle, noting his stoic acceptance of severe physical injuries and his refusal to complain despite his limitations. By examining Romans 5, the message explains that the love of God, poured out through the Holy Spirit, enables Christians to find joy and purpose even in pain. The tone is both comforting and challenging, urging the congregation to view their own trials not as meaningless hardships but as opportunities for spiritual growth and deeper reliance on Christ.
