   FFL x O'soul Waacking Mix

Funky French League and O’Soul have decided to join forces to offer you a soundtrack dedicated to waacking. Waacking is a dance created during the 70s in the clubs of Los Angeles within the Afro-American and Latin LGBT communities. The name waacking comes from the onomatopoeia "whack" found in the Batman and Robin comics. It indicates the sound of a slap and evokes rejection. Its name also comes from the expression "you wack". This movement, born in the underground, quickly spreads on in the clubs of the west coast and, to the public and to straight dancers. Mix of various influences (martial art / ballet / gymnastics / street dance ...), the music associated with it comes from disco and funk, but this dance is above all a way of showcasing its difference, its extravagance, and d ‘ to make it a weapon. Gradually disappearing in the 1990s, the movement was revived by a former dancer from Soul Train, Tyrone "the bone" Proctor, in the early 2000s. The scene becoming more global, has gained renewed interest since the early 2010s with its entry into the dance battles. O’Soul is a dance crew composed of individuals as different as powerful, with diverse and varied dances. Mariana, SamTwo and Tine are three women who unite around the Waacking culture ! Inspired by hip-hop, contemporary dance and traditional African dances, they evolve on stage and in battles. Today they are part of the Funky French League where they perform during the Funk Phenomena parties. > Tracklist > > > 1) What’s Funk > • Rare Gems Odyssey « What's Funk (DJ Vas Rework) » > • Sun « Sun Is Here » > • Hi-Tension « Bless The Funk (Dr Packer & Casual Connection Remix) » > • The Invisible Man's Band « All Night Thing (Young Pulse edit) » > • Skyy « Here’s To You » > • Tom Browne « Thights High (DJ XS Edit) » > • Ozone « Gigolette » > • Marvin Gaye « Got To Give It Up (The Reflex Revision) » > 2) Studio Waacking > • Jamiroquai « Cosmic Girl (Dimitri From Paris Remix) » > • Aretha Franklin « Every Girl (Wants My Guy) (Extended Version) » > • The Jacksons - Everybody (OPOLOPO extended disco tweak) > • Patrice Rushen « Haven’t You Heard » (Joey Negro Extended Disco Mix) » > • Diana Ross « Love Hangover » (Joey Negro Club Mix) » > > > 3) Sexy Dancers > • Prince « Sexy Dancer » > • Alex Jacke « Fashion » > • Ebonee Webb «Something About You » > • Robin Thicke « Blurred Lines (B.Bravo Get Nasty Remix) » > • Chaka Khan « I’m Every Woman (DJ Meme Knuckles Tribute Mix) » > • Prince - Erotic City (Lovebirds « Funk So Pretty » edit) > > > 4) Bad Girls > • Donna Summer « Bad Girls (DJ "S" bootleg) » > • Sister Sledge « He’s The Greatest Dancer » (Dimitri From Paris remix) » > • First Choice « Let No Man Put Asunder » (DJ « S » Bootleg) > • George Duke « Shine On » (DJ "S" Bootleg) » > • Rick James « Give It To Me Baby » (Young Pulse rework) » > • Jimmy Ross « First True Love Affair » (Young Pulse retouch) » > • Komiko « Feel Alright » > > > 5) Baila Mi Ritmo > Incognito « Always There (Masters At Work Main Mix) » > Love Deluxe « Here Comes That Sound (Chaps Tool) » > Teddy Pendergrass « Only You » > Bangalter « Colossus Original (Woody Braun Remix) » > Irakere « Baila Mi Ritmo (Funky French League Remix) » > > > 6) House of Waack > First Choice « The Player (Dub Mousse T & Boris Dlugosh Players Groove) » > First Choice « The Player (Mousse T. & Boris Dlugosch Classic 12'') » > Ralphi Rosario « Wanna Give It Up (with Linda Clifford - Lego's dub) » > Inaya Day « Nasty Girl (Full Mix) » > Webster Lewis vs Ultra Nate « You Deserve To Be Free (Young Pulse rebootleg) » > Eddie Rosemond « Funk It (Funky French League edit) »
