Dressed For Battle - Part 1 - The War of Lies
<p>We are in the middle of spiritual combat. "Dressed For Battle" is our series at Fusion Christian Church about winning that combat by wearing the Armor of God. In week one, Pastor Zac teaches about the belt of truth.</p><p><br></p><p>The power to fight comes from God!</p><p><br></p><p>The first thing to know about spiritual warfare is that the power to fight and to win comes from God. Before we put on a single piece of armor, we must learn to rely on the Lord for our strength. If we try to trust in our own power, we have failed before we even set out. If we trust in God instead, we are certain of victory!</p><p><br></p><p>You’re in the war of lies.</p><p><br></p><p>A massive swathe of the spiritual battlefield we face is filled with lies and deception. If we are to succeed as Christians, we must learn how to discern the real from the counterfeit, the truth from the lie. The key to this has two halves. The first half is knowing God's word, which trains our minds to discern God's truth from the deception of the enemy. The second half is to rely on the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth. Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would guide us in the truth and remind us of what is true. If we can couple knowledge of God's word and a relationship with his Spirit, then we will set ourselves up for victory.</p><p><br></p><p>God gives us the belt of truth because truth has already been decided.</p><p><br></p><p>The thing about truth is that it is unchanging. Truth is what aligns with God and the reality he has created. Because God is unchanging so is truth. This is important in a world that constantly seeks to undermine the truth of what God has said. We can rightly call Satan, who rules this world, the father of lies, as Jesus did. Since he is our great enemy, we must expect that he will try to deceive us at every turn. The good news is that God has spoken clearly what the truth is. If we trust in him and his word we will find victory.</p>

Take A Stand - Part 7 - Stand Until The End
<p>"Take A Stand" is our series at Fusion Christian Church on having the courage to stand strong in the faith. From the book of Daniel we will learn what it takes follow God in a world that doesn't. Pulling from chapters 7-12, Pastor Zac teaches about the final judgment and how we can be right with God.</p><p><br></p><p>One day the books will be opened.</p><p><br></p><p>God has a record of everything we have ever done. If we stand before God based on the works recorded in that book, we will not enter heaven. However, God has another book, one that contains a different record. That book has the names of those saved by the blood of the lamb. If we stand before God based off our record in that book, we will surely enter in. The question is, how do we know if God has written our names in it or not?</p><p><br></p><p>Our deliverance is in Christ.</p><p><br></p><p>God will write your name in the Book of Life if you put your faith in Jesus Christ. That is the only way to make sure your future is secure. No amount of good deeds will save us, because only Jesus lived a perfect life. Because of that, we must trust in His righteousness and not our own. Good deeds will save you, but only Christ's good deeds, not your own! </p><p><br></p><p>Take your stand at the end and aim for heaven.</p><p><br></p><p>With this in mind, we must aim to live a life worthy of the calling God has placed on our lives as Christians. Jesus called us not just to trust in him, but to repent of our sin. Repentance is a lifestyle that continually rejects sin and turns toward righteousness. As Christians do that, we prepare ourselves throughout life to ultimately enter into heaven. How are you aiming for heaven in your life?</p>

Take A Stand - Part 6 - Standing On Godliness
<p>"Take A Stand" is our series at Fusion Christian Church on having the courage to stand strong in the faith. From the book of Daniel we will learn what it takes follow God in a world that doesn't. In chapter 6, Pastor Zac teaches us about the necessity of godliness and the influence it has.</p><p><br></p><p>Godly people can stand out even in an ungodly world.</p><p><br></p><p>In the story of Daniel 6, the Persian officials all become jealous of Daniel because of his success. He not only was one of the three men in charge of all the other officials, but King Darius planned to promote him even over the other two. This illustrates an important principle for Christians: that we can succeed in an ungodly atmosphere. Even though Daniel was surrounded by worldly influences and away from his people, he was still able to rise to high station.</p><p><br></p><p>Stand on prayer and thanksgiving.</p><p><br></p><p>Because of their jealousy, the scheming officials set a trap for Daniel. They convinced the King to pass a law that made Daniel's prayers to God illegal. However, despite the law, Daniel continued to pray openly. He knew that he had to honor God above this wicked law. He continued to pray and give thanks for God so that the only crime he committed would be righteousness. Even so, Daniel is caught in the trap and Darius is forced to throw him into the Lion's Den.</p><p><br></p><p>Your godliness will point people to God.</p><p><br></p><p>Because of his godliness, God spared Daniel. Daniel survived the night and came out of the den alive. Darius then released a proclamation praising the God of Israel as one who rescues and saves. He recognized the miracle God had done and drew attention to it. Ultimately, Daniel's faithfulness and godliness set an example for the King and then the world to see. What steps can you make toward godliness in your life?</p>
