Em 2003 juntou-se à equipa técnica de José Mourinho e ao longo do seu percurso já passou por vários clubes como Santa Clara, Chaves, Al-Khaleej, Manchester United, Tottenham e Al Hilal, no Sudão. Ricardo, mais conhecido por "Ricky", como treinador já ganhou uma Liga dos Campeões, uma Liga Europa, um título de Campeão Nacional em Portugal e Espanha, bem como outras competições.</p>
