What should you learn next for your career? Learn the skill that stands between you and the next role you want, and that shows up in most job postings for that role.
This episode walks through a ten minute method. Name one target role. Open five real postings. Sort every skill into three columns: on your resume, have it but your resume hides it, and do not have it yet. Rank the last column and learn the top skill for that role. The middle column is often bigger than people expect, and it is the fastest win. The episode also covers what to do when you do not know your next role, and why finished courses do not always lead to interviews.

Personalised learning for your career: the closed loop
Personalised learning for your career only pays off when it starts from a measured gap to a real role. This episode explains what hyper-personalised learning means, how it differs from a sorted course catalogue or adaptive delivery, and why it works best inside a loop.
That loop is closed loop career development. Measure the gap between a person and the role they want, from a resume, a job description or a mock interview. Build the learning around that gap and that role. Prove it with a skill check at the end of every week. Then the resume, the remaining gaps and the job matches update on their own, and the next gap is measured. The episode also covers four tests you can apply to any learning product, and one job whose match moves from 58 to 81 out of 100.

Skills needed for a job in 2026: five roles compared
Skills needed for a job in 2026 look like the same list everywhere: communication, teamwork, a few tools. This episode looks at why that list rarely helps anyone decide what to do next, and what actually decides the offer in five common roles: software engineer, sales executive, HR, product manager and data analyst.
It covers the three kinds of skills every job asks for, the skills a resume usually hides, and a simple four column template to find your own skill gap against one real job posting. It also explains where a one minute chatbot answer stops, and what it takes to track a gap as it closes.
