What does it really mean to be AI-ready? Kristi Marchesani and Craig Vezina talk with Ethan Wiechmann, Director of CF CAPS (Center for Advanced Professional Studies) in Cedar Falls, Iowa, about what happens when high school students leave the classroom and take on real projects for real clients in their community.
Ethan explains how CAPS builds durable skills through project-based, community-based learning, and why students arrive confused about AI: told it's cheating at school, then told by industry partners they should have used it. Along the way: a design sprint to revive a struggling local mall, a mascot history that AI got confidently wrong, and the two pitfalls Ethan sees most (over-promising, and going wider instead of deeper).
