Jim Rohn covers all the bases. He really only misses the modern methods of digital journals, Internet syncing, smart phones and such methods that are an integral part of keeping journals for the past decade or so.
Principles don't change, and there he touches all the bases.
I think this is the perfect reference for someone wanting to start to keep a journal for the first time. It is short and concise and he doesn't waste your time.

Speaking fast and speaking intelligently itโs firstly about having something good to say (the content), second, accessing that content quickly in your brain, and thirdly express it using great public speaking and storytelling techniques such as two important verbal fluency exercises we will practise with a live audience in these weekly Podcast series.
1) The Semantic Verbal Fluency (SVF) - this test entails the generation of words from a given category within a pre-set time of 60 seconds. A verbal fluency test that measures spontaneous production of words belonging to the same category.
2) Phonemic Verbal Fluency (PVF) - this is a verbal fluency test that measures spontaneous production of words, beginning with some designated letter within a pre-set time of 60 seconds.
