An attempt to discover the best British quiz-slash-game show ever made through a series of cunning and arbitrary tests by two friends who have wasted - sorry invested - a lot of time on quizzes, questions and quick fire rounds over the past something years.
No specialist knowledge here - just enthusiasm, the odd argument and a lot of spare time. Come on down!
Hello, welcome and finalise your answers for another showdown between two game shows just minding their business but happen to have something in common. Or at least they sort of do as this week Ben Baker and Christine Coulson are putting two very different kinds of quiz against each other under the heading of "STARMAKERS": meaning shows that made their hosts a household name.
We start with squeaky bum time as Magnus Magnusson helms the original "Mastermind" then its onto the 90s for the day-glo daytime madness of Dale Winton on "Supermarket Sweep". Questions are answered, brows are furrowed, friendships are broken and aisles are gotten wild in. Just make sure not to drop anything on the way...

Game For A Quiz: Pub Classics
Pubs! Remember them? With their sticky carpets, awkward toilet conversations and Deal or No Deal fruit machines just waiting to fleece you of your pound coins. They're also home to many different games and so, with people slowly returning inside bars, that's what we're paying tribute to today with darts vs snooker (there's sadly yet to be a full shove ha'penny series...) represented by two legends of lager-swilled leisure - BULLSEYE and BIG BREAK.
Can a bad host sink an actually good series? What is Bully up to in the advertisement break? How can an audience look entirely made up of murderers and their victims? How many balls could you pot as you can? How does Mike Batt fit into all this? And what IS behind Bully's Special Prize curtain? Find out in this gin-soaked edition of GAME FOR A QUIZ!

Bonus Round 3
We asked 100 people...and over seven responded with something other than court proceedings! Yes, its time once again to check with the results of the listener poll of Pointless vs Family Fortunes and read your feedback. To get a bit of perspective on the Lord Bob era Fortunes we decided to view a 1983 episode of its originator Family Feud and....well, lets just say there's opinions. And kissing. Too much kissing.
NOTE: We had a few issues with Ben's side of the recording on this one and even with the genius Dr Paul Abbott (https://twitter.com/Pablovich)blessing it with his special production glitter it's still not in as high quality as we'd normally like. A big thanks to him and to you for getting involved!

Game For A Quiz: We Asked 100 People
We asked 100 people if they'd like to listen to a podcast where Ben Baker and Christine Coulson smash two classic quiz or game shows against each other in an almighty trivia battle to decide which is the greatest of all time. They weren't home. Still, we did it anyway so get your Pointless air drums and Family Fortunes wrong noises ready as things are about to get 100% serious. But not the old Channel 5 game show 100% That is a different thing.

Picture the scene. You're in from school, you've slung your bag into the corner determined not to do your homework until the last minute and all you want to do is slump down in the comfy chair with some appropriate TV. Welcome to the world of 'teatime classics' - quizzes that captured a nation over their egg and chips - with two titans of the field going head on as Fifteen To One battles Blockbusters.
Christine Coulson and Ben Baker will put both through their paces with fan enthusiasm, internet rabbit holes and sniggering about the hosts' private lives. We'll look at the sets, the prizes, the oddball contestants, the bleeping theme tunes, the likelihood of starting family arguments, the potentially naughty middle names and much more. Its a fun, breezy look at two beloved series by two friends, hopped up on buttercream sandwiches, obsessed with the world of quiz.

Game For A Quiz: Luck
Are you a lucky person?
Ben Baker and Christine Coulson aren't but that doesn't stop them getting together for a friendly conversation on the subject of "luck" in game shows, pitting the 90s version of "Bruce Forsyth's Play Your Cards Right" and "Deal Or No Deal" against each other like the lucking luckers they truly are. Which will win when judged on host, theme tune, set, playability, buzz, prizes and a mystery category? Which of the hosts gives you the jibblies the most? Will you go higher or lower? And is the Banker's offer good enough? Open box number two and let's find out.

Game For A Quiz: Time
We've all got a favourite game show. Like the BBC point based one hosted by the lad with the ears or its ITV rival in which a chaser chases some contestants in a chase...I forget the title. (Speed 2?) But which is the BEST quiz or game show ever? Well, that's what Ben Baker and Christine Coulson are hoping to find out in this new series pitting two examples of the genre against each other.
In this first episode both put forward a mighty example of shows that used time in an interesting way as Christine's choice of Paul Daniels' multiple choice classic "Every Second Counts" battles Ben and the lesser known 2010's daytime series "1000 Heartbeats". The shows will be put through their paces on the things that truly matter like host, set, interactivity, prizes, buzz and, most important of all, if you can sing the name of the show to the theme tune...
