Veteran sports reporter Michael Spath and longtime University of Michigan Kinesiology academic director Shelly Kovacs team up for interviews with all-time Michigan football, basketball, and hockey greats. Each week they speak to a former Wolverine about their career athletically and off the field, bringing the fans into the locker room, into practice, and share memories from game days.
Considered Bo Schembechler’s greatest captain, linebacker Andy Cannavino started three seasons from 1978 to 1980, holds the school record for linebackers with six interceptions and sixth all time at U-M with 385 tackles. As a senior in 1980, he led Michigan to a 10-2 record, a win over Ohio State, a Big Ten title, and a Rose Bowl victory, finishing No. 4 in the country.
