13 - Hideo Kojima Has Never Spoken to a Woman in His Life
Look we talk about Death Stranding for four friggin hours. No exaggeration. We talk about its gameplay, its themes, our thoughts on Hideo Kojima, and if we liked the game or not. (Which is honestly not an easy question to answer.)
We had a hard time titling this episode so here's everything we came up with:
- Skipping the Cutscenes is Praxis
- Thousands of Dead Mothers to Rebuild the Internet
- More Like Death STANDING [Around While People Talk At You]
- Only America Can Save the World From Ghosts
- I HATE YOU DIE-HARDMAN
- Die-Hardman DIDN'T DIE HARD ENOUGH
- How One Bisexual's Crimes Caused the Apocalypse
- Kojima Didn't Know Death Stranding Is About the Exploitation of Labor
- Like Mario and Princess Beach *jack off motion*
- Ziplining over the Story
- Peeing On Ghosts to Make Them Explode Simulator
- aMeRiCa NeEdS yOu
- Thank Me By Leaving Me Alone

12 - Sometimes You Love A Real Piece Of Garbage
After a hiatus for the Three M's (Minecraft, Morrowind, and Minigolf) Doom and Eli took an evening to dip into Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days because it's a short game and Eli saw it on a stream. (Shoutouts to J (//JamsVirtual)amsVirtual https://www.twitch.tv/jamsvirtual ) What comes after is a discussion of what is honestly a pretty average game, and the kind of space a 6/10 or a 7/10 game should have in gaming.

10 - Stealing a Car And/Or An X-Ray Machine
This episode is a special treat because Eli and Doom discuss TWO indie games! The first is Uncanny Valley, a horror side-scroller that has a LOT of endings. It's also extremely janky. Then, they discuss 11:45 A Vivid Life, a narrative experiment game about a girl who steals an x-ray machine because she thinks her skeleton isn't hers. It's a weird and open-ended game, also with several endings!

9: Flirting with the Hot Girl by Throwing Lightning at Her
Doom and Eli make good on the promise of Indie games and this week they discuss Ikenfell, a western JRPG about a magic school. It's also an extremely queer game, leading to a lengthy discussion about their own queerness and queerness in videogames and media.
SHOW NOTES: At approximately 1 hour, 1 minute, Eli is discussing the plot and mentions Petronella repeatedly when they mean Pertisia. This happens again at around 1 hour, 22 minutes. It's then pointed out and corrected by Doom at 1 hour 25 minutes. Apologies, listener. Eli was just way in their own head and got the names jumbled.

8: Invent a Kind of Guy to Justify Killing Half the World
We were gonna get to Kojima eventually, and in this episode Doom and Eli discuss the Sega CD version of Snatcher! It's our longest episode yet as Doom and Eli dive deep into a spoiler-filled discussion of detective work, cool cyberpunk aesthetics, and how Gillian Seed sucks and is actually a huge creep. Also there's some discussion of Metal Gear and how this game references it a LOT.

7: Let Me Be A Hater: The Platformers Episode
Look we here on Game Of The Queer have been dancing around the issue of Platformers for several episodes now, but a listener email spurred us on to finally discuss it. On this episode, Eli and Doom set the record straight on how they feel about platformers. Do they hate them? What happened? What really IS a platformer anyway? Also on the show: the first ever corrections segment, AND a discussion of the worst videogame Eli and Doom have ever purchased!

6: Unfortunately, They Fixed The Poison Knife Glitch
The back catalog dive continues as Doom and Eli played through the N64 classic Perfect Dark! (Thru the xbox remaster that is). Hear them discuss their background with the game, including how Doom used to play it for hours re-enacting The Matrix which leads to a lengthy tangent discussion of the Matrix movies. Plus find out about Eli's adversarial relationship with platformers.

5: A Pile of Heads and Body Parts
Doom and Eli dip into the back catalog for this one. The two of them played 1994's System Shock, a game that's full of jank, but interesting jank! They played the 2015 "Enhanced Edition" and holy shit it's a good thing they did. Plus, in the back half they get into the demo of the remake that is coming out this year: the remake they had no idea was coming out when they started playing.

3: Outrider in the Streets, Altered in the Sheets
After Anthem, the looter-shooter (shlooter) train continues, as Doom and Eli discuss the most recent game they've played yet: Square Enix's Outriders! After getting drawn in by the demo, they played through the game one and a half times, trudged through the endgame, and nearly rolled their eyes out of their heads over the story. Come listen to why Eli is worried this might be their favorite game this year!

2: Ninety-Seven Minutes Of Yelling About Anthem
Doom and Eli are getting right into it because they're talking about EA's action role-playing sorta-mech game that is now pretty much dead: Anthem! Eli came in late, playing the game for the first time this year, and Doom literally made a two-hour long deep dive on the game in 2019. She has a lot to say about it. Eli does too! Join them in their shared pain over this game that should be better than it actually is.
