高雄小港機場
高雄機場的前身小港飛行場，原是日本陸軍的飛行場，1944年12月啟用，是緊急興建作為當時南部最大的飛行基地屏東機場的輔助機場。在二次大戰末期，美軍為封鎖臺灣，曾大量轟炸小港飛行場。戰後，小港飛行場由國軍接收，仍作為輔助機場使用，直至1965年移交通部民用航空局接管。二次大戰期間「小港飛行場」停放飛機的機堡後來變成了民眾居住的地方，至今還保留下來的查到有5座，隱身在都市叢林中。

高雄車站
高雄火車站是台灣現存日治時代「興亞帝冠式」建築的翹楚，原要因鐵路地下化拆除的火車站，在文化人士護衛下，最後決定保存原貌，與新站共構。所謂「興亞帝冠式」建築出現在1940年代，日本軍國主義高漲的時代，不同於以往模仿西方建築的樣式，「興亞」是強調東方建築的風貌，屋頂或為中國式、屋簷呈現東方式雕塑、窗子或是阿拉伯式圓拱，而其屋頂上方仿唐朝建築的尖頂，如同戴上一頂冠帽，所以也稱為「帝冠式」通常出現在官方建築。

旗山車站
旗山火車站建於西元1913年，於西元1978年全面停駛。為高砂製糖株式會社鐵道線運輸車站，旗尾線是從九曲堂發車行經旗尾糖廠，旗山車站是其中重要中繼站車站，最一開始是以運送貨物為主，後來變為載客。火車站的建築風格是和洋混搭式，融合了和式、維多利亞式及哥德式風格，車站側邊之八角尖頂構造為特殊之處，外觀像是英國鄉間的童話小屋，造型典雅可愛，整棟建築呈現出一種輕鬆活潑的節奏感。
