[…] And I hear it all the time. Anytime that someone finds out what I do for work, they'll say, oh my gosh, I wish I could do that, but I don't have a green thumb. I have a black thumb. And internally, I'm always kind of like rolling my eyes slash biting my tongue slash deciding whether or not this is a person that can handle my soapbox rant about this because genuinely, I do not think anybody has a green thumb. Like this whole concept of a green thumb has become this mythologized semi-magical trait. It's like it's something that you're supposed to be born with. And I don't think that anyone is born with an innate ability to be better with plants than somebody else. […]
