Hi! Welcome to Gargaritas: 1 Cocktail, 2 Opinions – a podcast where we will have casual but maseladar conversations about everyday topics, sharing perspectives across our own generations and experiences. We hope that by sharing our stories, you’ll hear a bit of your own. Our conversations are honest and real, and we want this podcast to feel like a place where you can show up as you are — laugh with us, learn with us, and feel a little less alone in the process.
Mango Margarita - Take Care: A Reminder and "See You Later"
Full circle moment: we’re closing out the season with a margarita in hand—mango this time, because it’s finally the season for it! We wanted to leave you with something real before we go: the importance of self-care. We get into what it looks like for us, how we actually practice it, why we think it matters, and what we hope you take away from this little corner of the internet. Think of this one as our short and sweet parting gift. We’ll be back. But first, we’re taking our own advice.
Thanks for sticking with us for a whole season! We had such a great time sharing a little piece of ourselves with you. While we’re gone, leave us a review, share us with a friend, or drop us a comment—we’ll still be here and reading everything. We’re excited for what’s to come!
Mango Margarita:
3 parts tequila (most recipes call for Silver, but we still go for a gold reposado)
2 parts cointreau
2 parts mango puree (from frozen mango juice, fresh mango juice, or mango nectar – note mango nectar will be slightly more sweet)
2.5 parts lime juice
1 part simple syrup (or agave syrup) *you might skip this depending on how sweet your mango is
Some like to add a bit of chili powder or spice to the rim but we keep it simple with a classic salt rim.

Coronarita - One of Many Pet Peeves
After last week, we felt like going for a lighter vibe. So we sat down with each other's list of 10 pet peeves and read them out loud, turn by turn. What followed was a lot of "wait, SAME," a few "okay but WHY though" moments, and honestly just a lot of laughs. Oh, and we're drinking coronaritas — because yes, beer in a margarita is a pet peeve of ours. And yes, we leaned into it just for the theme — not because we enjoy it!

Lavender Drop - Anxiety and How We Calm It
We're back! Between the world feeling a little chaotic and the Iran-US conflict hitting close to home (literally), we needed a minute. But, we’re ready to return to our new “normal.” This week, lavender lemon drop in hand (nature's little chill pill in cocktail form), we talk about what we’ve all likely felt at some point, and what surfaced for us in different ways lately: anxiety. We share when it first crept in, how it shows up, how we deal with it, and the unfamiliar nature of how it’s manifested recently. During our little escape to India for a couple of weeks, we validated that a cocktail and good company may not fix everything, but for us, it’s the closest thing to medicine. Come catch up with us with something lavendery! It’s supposed to calm the nerves – consider this episode your glass.
Lavender drop:
1.5 part vodka
1.5 part lemon juice
1 part lavender syrup
1 lavender sprig for garnish
Hindi translation:
"Agar apni jhopadi mein namak se bhi roti khao toh swad lagti hai" - The most basic meal tastes gourmet in your own house.

Amaretto Sour - Arvind and Seema as Dad and Mom
This week we close the family loop as Arvind (Dad) finally makes his Gargaritas debut! For the first time, Seema swaps her co-host role for the guest seat and Tejal turns interviewer, asking them both introspective questions about the journey that created our family: parenting. They share what guided their decisions, how they balanced their roles, why they made the choices they made, and some hot takes on modern parenting. Like the best dinner table conversations (of which we’ve had many), this one is deep, warm, and a little spicy—perfectly paired with Arvind’s drink of choice: an Amaretto sour.
Amaretto Sour Recipe:
1 1/2 part amaretto liqueur
2 parts sweet and sour mix (or 1 part freshly squeezed lemon juice and 1 part simple syrup)
Garnish with either a lemon twist or brandied cherries
*Recipes typically call for an additional 3/4 part bourbon (but we typically omit this for a simple home make)
*1/2 part egg white, foamed, to the top drink is optional

Cosmopolitan - Love ”Aaj Kal”
Love is in the air, so we poured something pink to match. This week, we’re curling up with Cosmopolitans and talking about what love really looks like—not just the rom-com moments, but the patience, respect, and tiny everyday choices that build something lasting. We’re sharing how you know when it’s real, what we think makes love stick, and Seema shares some stories (and some “secrets”) from her own marriage. In true valentine’s fashion, join us for this little ‘heart-to-heart’ conversation.
Cosmopolitan Recipe:
2 parts vodka
1 part cointreau/triple sec
1 part cranberry juice (don’t use unsweetened - a cranberry cocktail works best)
1 part fresh lime juice
Ice
Place all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake until chilled. Strain into a martini/couple style glass.

We bring the expert in to get his views on a topic that equally excites us both. Roll the tape, pour a drink, and settle in for all the vibes of a family movie night—no remote required.

Moscow Mule - Social Media, Blessing or Curse?
This week, we’re clinking copper mugs and unpacking the wild world of social media. Over Moscow Mules, we’re discussing the pros, the cons, the cringe, and the endless “doom scroll.” From connection and creativity to inevitable comparison, safety, and digital responsibility, we share our mainly love— but sometimes hate—relationship with the world of social media. Sip along with us as we get into this widely debated topic, before the ice melts and the scroll takes over. Don’t forget to like/share/repost ;)
Moscow Mule Recipe:
2 parts vodka
1/2 part freshly squeezed lime juice
1 tsp of fresh ginger juice (or, grate fresh ginger into the drink and stir before serving)

For a Masala Mule:
Boil chai spices whole/ground in water (ginger, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, fennel, anise, etc.)
