About Gary, Marty and Me - My story of surviving two brain tumours.
A podcast about positivity for people diagnosed with brain tumours. It sounds a grim subject but not every tumour diagnosis ends in tragedy (sadly still too many do) and I wanted to offer some positivity to anyone’s newly diagnosed and maybe inspire them to stay positive. I want to share my story and how I found ways to fight my way through this huge challenge with humour and optimism. I try to explain the hospital and surgery experienceI. Sharing information on resources available to 'Brain Tumour Warriors', support groups and charities that can help you.
In this episode I look at how I improved my fitness in recent years and how this helped speed up my recovery from my brain surgery.

Episode 10 - My Craniotomy Diary Pt.6 - How my diagnosis affected our daughters
In my podcast I have so far only focused on events from my perspective but when our daughter Charlotte visited the UK from New Zealand I took the chance to interview her and our other daughter Rebecca on the rare occasion that I had them both together.
We chat about the impact of my diagnosis on them and how our quiet steady lives were totally disrupted by a brain tumour diagnosis. I found it very moving to hear what they felt and went through.

Episode 1 - The Power of Words
In the first episode, I talk about the power of words to change your life and how the direction of our lives changed completely with the words "I'm sorry Mr Hannah but you have two brain tumours". In this series I will talk about the coping mechanisms that have got me through some dark moments and the fact that you can still find humour in even the most difficult circumstances.
I hope this podcast will help those diagnosed after me to understand what is to come and take some of the mystery and fear out of the process.
