Durchkämmen Sie die Wüste!
In dieser Episode aus dem Sommer führt uns Michael wieder nach Afrika, genauer gesagt nach Namibia an der Westküste des Kontinents. Zum Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts erwirbt der Bremer Tabakhändler Adolf Lüderitz hier ein vermeintlich wertloses Stück Land und benennt es nach sich: Lüderitzland. Keine 30 Jahre später stoßen Bahnarbeiter im Wüstensand unweit der Stadt Lüderitz in eben diesem Land auf einige wertvolle Diamanten. Fortan beginnt ein Diamantenrausch und findige Menschen werden reich und verlieren alles wieder. Ebenso wie der dort errichtete Ort, Kolmanskuppe, einen schnellen Aufstieg erlebt und auch schon bald wieder sprichwörtlich im Sande versinkt.
