<p>Hans Magnus Enzensbergers Ballade „Giovanni de‘ Dondi“ bildet den Auftakt seines Gedichtbands „Mausoleum. Siebenunddreißig Balladen aus der Geschichte des Fortschritts“. Sie widmet sich De‘ Dondis Astrarium, einer astronomischen Uhr, die 1364 vollendet wurde und anhand derer der Autor die Möglichkeit autonomer Kunst im Sinne Theodor Adornos abhandelt. </p>

<p>Am 28. Dezember 1879 stürzte der Mittelteil der erst im Jahr zuvor fertiggestellten Brücke über den schottischen Firth of Tay mitsamt eines Personenzugs auf seinem Weg von Edinburgh nach Dundee in den Fjord. Dieses Unglück verarbeitet Theodor Fontane in seiner Ballade „Die Brück‘ am Tay“, die nur wenige Tage später entstand. Sie spiegelt den Widerstreit zwischen der menschengemachten Technik und den Kräften der Natur. </p>

<p>Alle niedersächsischen 12. Klässler:innen kennen Elis aus E.T.A. Hoffmanns „Die Bergwerke zu Falun“. Aber von welcher historischen Person wurde Elis inspiriert und wie beeinflusste wiederum Hoffmanns Figur Georg Trakl bei seinem Gedicht „An den Knaben Elis“? Diesen Fragen gehen wir heute in unserer Folge über den Untergang der Poesie nach.</p>
