Stick and Stones May Break Our Bones but... Names Can Never Hurt Us.
BULLSHIT!
Getting free from a past sullied by addiction requires courage, discipline and thick skin aka faith in YHWY.
Typically- addicition and mental illness are comorbid mental disorders that, if left untreated over a long period - can often leave behind a tornado of ruined often unrepairable personal history.
For me personally, the road to recovery (after 30+ years of alcohol abuse) depended on my ability to both successfully re-examine and reasonably process the what and the why of each negative situation / relationship from my past with a cause and effect practical sensibility.
Guilt , shame, anger, resentment and mourning of our past can all hinder an addictive person's willpower and motivation in seeking help for treatment.
The disciplinary skillset for effectively letting go of negative memories (people, places and things) from an addicted past requires patience with oneself and assistance from experienced healthcare professionals familiar with the process.

MONKEYPOX - GAY PLAGUE OR SEX ADDICTION ALERT?
Sex addiction is still one primary factor that makes us vulnerable to infectious diseases.
Monkeypox - a self-limited highly contagious virus is spreading fast in NY with a reported 2,500 cases and counting since June 2022. (NYC.GOV/MONKEYPOX)
A large portion of the infected are LGBTQTI.
To the ignorant - because of the high number of reported Monkeypox cases identified as LGBTQI - the sensational-hungry press and certain anti-LGBTQI Republican political party members maybe quick to attach moral degeneracy as it's cause / punishment.

Addiction by definition - is a treatable mental disorder whereby our brain is conditioned by a combination of symptoms including environment, emotional stress and desire to placate our presumed mental depressions / emotional inadequacies with long-term abusive euphoria.
In most cases- the deeper the depression the more severe the addiction.
Why is sexual addiction - still considered taboo conversation yet relatively conventional social behavior?
