For the past two years, I’ve curated playlists of my favorite UK Garage and related genres, discovering fresh sounds that inspired me to create Nova. I wanted a seamless mix of these tracks to enjoy without skipping around throughout Spotify, and I believe mixed music has a unique power to captivate. Nova took a year to complete and is the most work I’ve ever put into a mix. Many tracks lacked DJ-friendly intros and outros, but recent AI advancements allowed me to break them into stems, remix, and edit them for the intentional transitions featured in this mix. Thank you for listening. Tracklist: Body Ocean | Back To Me Snackbox | Don't You Know Snackbox | Won't You MPH | My Mind Cesco | Flump Halogenix | Keeping You Close (Cesco Remix) Yolanda Be Cool | Tremble (MPH Remix) Pola & Bryson | Falling 4 U (MPH Remix) Biicla | Y Are Interplanetary Criminal | The Valley Interplanetary Criminal | Slow Burner Sammy Virji & Interplanetary Criminal | Damager Charlie Shell | HITZ 4 THE HOOD MPH | One Sixty MPH | Raw Hamdi | Counting (Sammy Virji Remix) Sammy Virji & Skepta | Cops & Robbers 33 Below | Blinded Lockerz | Gone Lockerz | Make Believe

It's been a while since I posted a mix...Several years ago, I was part of a very special night. LOST was an outlet for me to connect with my friends, community, and music on a monthly basis. Started with my best friend Sean Majors, we aimed to create a showcase that made our family the headliners in front of our own community—the people we saw week in and week out at various house nights in Seattle. Being part of this night was the crowning achievement of my almost 3 decade long DJ career. At the end, I felt we told a story with a proper beginning and a heartfelt end, leaving all my artistic energy on the Monkey Loft dancefloor. For those who experienced it, thank you for being part of our family, our commune, our sanctuary. In the end, I felt that my 27-year journey took its toll on my mind, body and soul. The analogy that comes to me lately is that DJing is akin to human space travel. One can only survive in orbit for so long before the conditions of weightlessness start to deteriorate your body. Playing a great set at Monkey Loft leaves you feeling weightless, on cloud nine, and it's hard to come down to earth due to the levity provided by the energy that rises from the dancefloor. At the end of LOST, I felt it was mandatory to come back to earth, recharge my soul, get in touch with my spirit, and most importantly, give all my energy to my family. On July 19th, 2024, I had the opportunity to play a set on the Monkey Loft Deck for Space Yacht, the best place to DJ in Seattle. I realized the gravity of the set I was about to play and practiced for weeks on end, knowing that the Monkey Loft dancefloor required my best. This new mix is my live set from that night, and I am very happy with it. Little did I know that it took a Space Yacht to propel my "Return To Orbit." Back to the place I feel most comfortable, DJing in front of my favorite crowd in the world—the Seattle faithful dancers. Thank you to Tony H. for providing the ship, Seattle for providing the space, and most importantly, my fiancée, Andrea Perez, for giving me the fuel to create this mix.I love you all and look forward to sharing many more dancefloors with you in the years to come. Love, Gene Lee

I have spent the last 6 months putting together a mix of bass influenced house. I have been so inspired by the music which has been released recently, that I felt that I needed to compile a mix of this great music which has given me so much joy. This mix started when I discovered the song “Vibe Alert” by No Thanks. After listening to this song roughly 100 times, I felt that I needed to find many more songs to accompany it. Right around this same time, I found out about an artist named San Pacho. Anyone who knows me well, knows that when I find an artist I love, I start devouring their whole library, studying every song like I am about to take an exam on their sound. After playing San Pacho’s tracks for a few months, I then made the bold move of reaching out to him on Instagram, asking about his music and praising his sound. He responded by sending me a library of unreleased tracks, which have been at the core of almost every one of my sets since June. All of this being said, I have put together a mix that I am very happy with. It has taken countless hours of my time and I consider it the last mix I will be working on for a long time. While the style may not satisfy all tastes, I hope you can appreciate the time, intention, and emotion I put into this. This mix is peak Gene Lee. Please enjoy. Art: Seth Grym Tracklist: Body Ocean | Squeaky Clean No Thanks | Vibe Alarm San Pacho | All Over Again San Pacho | Party People Will Clarke | The Goog Nautik | Zaddy Phlegmatic Dogs | Westcoaster (AC Slater Remix) San Pacho | Spicy Mama OOTORO | Def Jam PAWSA | Roll Play San Pacho | Pride Ailow | How I Do It MARTEN HØRGER & Nitti Gritti | Want You
