Ep 19 The Professor-Clinician

In this episode, guest Dr. Hector Y. Adames and I talked about the various paths clinically trained psychologists can take. Dr. Adames shared his journey into our healing profession and helped remind me that we can broaden our understanding of what our careers can look like - that we can be more integrative and whole, rather than compartmentalized and declaring ourselves a “researcher” vs. “clinician”. He is a Full Professor who conducts neuropsych assessments and therapy as well. After our episode, I also share a reflection on my process navigating this particular interview and what surprised me.

To learn more about Dr. Adames' books, including Succeeding as a Therapist, go to: https://icrace.org/our-partners/publications/

You can follow Dr. Adames on Twitter, Spoutible, and Instagram @HYAdames
