Podcast Overview

Get Personal is a space for the brave. Even if it is just temporary bravery. Not because we have the answers but because we’re finally ready to ask better questions. It began with one desperate question: What do I need to hear -and who do I need to hear it from- so I’d finally believe it? And first, do I even know what I have to hear to feel fully happy and fulfilled? This is a dream to build a show about peeling back the stories, facing what’s real, and finding the power that’s been there all along.

Episode 33. Relentless Little Rascal

There's a funny old Mexican song with spicy lyrics that go something like, "Some have it long, some have it short... and women love it." After a few cheeky verses, you find out the song is just about... mustaches.

It's funny, and also not-so-funny, because that’s exactly what our inner opponent is like—that relentless little rascal in our heads. We build it up to be this big, scary, complicated monster, but sometimes it’s just a silly, persistent thought that we give way too much power to.

This week, I get personal with my own rascal. I talk about that embarrassing, vulnerable feeling of putting yourself out there—recording videos when you don't like how you look—all while that voice, whether it feels like a monster or just a mustache, whispers, "You're awful."

So what do you do with this character? This episode explores a different strategy: facing that voice, getting curious about it, and even starting a conversation with it to learn its tricks.

This internal work is how we finally get the upper hand and write our own "happy ending," which is the theme of this week's chapter reading. We now have the knowledge to stop letting this rascal dictate our lives. As the chapter says, "No more excuses. Forever starts now."

This is an episode about learning to spot that relentless little rascal—no matter what shape or size it takes—so you can finally start to lead the dance.

Resources Mentioned:

To start your own journey of learning, visit kabbalahone.com.

To get your own copy of the book and follow along, you can find it here: The Autobiography of Satan: A Memoir by Yehuda Berg.

Episode 32. ...but i loooove swag!

I almost got caught in a big trap today.

That little "what if" voice started whispering, "What if my life was different? What if I had that other job?" It's a tempting delusion that makes us reject the very circumstances that are perfectly designed for our growth.

This personal struggle connects directly to one of the final chapters of the book, which explains the spiritual game behind this dissatisfaction. It reveals that we often wish for a different life because we're busy chasing the wrong kind of prize.

I do not want to give away more, but every time we are tested, the Opponent dangles "swag" in front of us—the easy, shiny things.

We don't even realize, but it's just swag is so good to have... The problem is, there is a cosmic rule: every time you choose swag, a real treasure gets locked away in the vault. It’s the ultimate trade-off.

So, as the Rav Berg says, consciousness is everything, and the first step is to have the ability to see, oh if this chapter will show you!

Resources Mentioned in This Episode:

For more on the power of words: Check out the Spiritually Hungry Podcast with Michael and Monica Berg. https://open.spotify.com/episode/3L9kHv0BQH3YWmcHSqFSDR?si=f8uaSZEqRQel_fquHvHunw

To start your own journey of learning, visit kabbalahone.com.
