Welcome to Get to the Heart, a podcast hosted by Michael Weidman and Bailey Mullens. Join us as we explore theological topics and try to uncover the deeper meaning behind them, just as Jesus did. Our goal is to help you apply the heart of these topics to your everyday walk with Jesus. In each episode, we dive into the nature and character of God and how understanding the details of what he is like can transform your walk with God. Through thought-provoking conversations and insights, we hope to guide you on a path of real growth and understanding.
Jesus Described Four Kinds of Hearts. Which One Is Yours?
Why can two people hear the same gospel and respond so differently? Michael and Bailey look at Jesus’ parable of the soils in Matthew 13, Mark 4, and Luke 8, focusing on the hard path and the rocky ground.
They talk about closed hearts, the limits of arguments, the appeal of Christian community, and what happens when following Jesus becomes costly. The conversation asks us to examine our own hearts as well as how we care for others.
After the prayer, a live-chat question leads to a discussion of God’s hiddenness, faithfulness, and the pressure to perform in a relationship with him. The remaining two soils are reserved for a later episode.

Scripture Says WHAT About the Kingdom and Other Dimensions?
Join Bailey, Michael, and special guest, Caleb, as they discuss what Scripture has to say concerning Cosmology. Was the Garden of Eden a combination of realms before the Fall? Is the Kingdom of Heaven a real place that is more than spiritual? Where and what exactly is Hell? Join us as we discuss and attempt to answer these questions.
